Musical Theatre: "Personal Contribution Documentation"

                                          Task 4: Personal Contribution Document


The last exercise was to create personal contribution document. A well researched and cited document detailing my contribution to the presentation. I need to include in this document all research, findings, and contributions that I have made to the presentation. Also I had to include my reactions to how our presentation went, and my reactions to the process of creating a group presentation.


This document must follow these standards:


1) 750-1000 words.
2) Typed.
3) Double Spaced.
4) Font: Times new Roman.
5) Font Size: 12pt.
6) Name, student number,& the turn in date should be at the top right.
7) The title of this document should be: Personal Contribution - Your Name.


Also will be a video where we have to a well spoken and articulate detail our contribution to the presentation. Also we have to include this video all research, findings, and contributions that I have made to the presentation. Also everyone have to include individual reactions to how presentation went, and also our individual reaction to the process od creating a group presentation. Everyone should be sure about mention any sources used in individual research.


This video should follow these standards:


1) Approximately 2 minutes in length.
2) Slated with name, student number, the turn in date, and the title "Personal Contribution" at the opening of the video.
3) Clear, concise, and well spoken.
4) Filmed with a clear ,steady, single shot, showing the face of the presenter reciting into the camera.
5) Any citations should either be in text( i.e as you mention a particular piece of information , you say precisely where it comes from) or at the end of the video.

Our assignment was to be able to articulate and demonstrate a knowledge of the principles of voice production and vocal health in an engaging, inventive, creative, and pleasing way. We(students) should take into account our audience and structure our presentation to keep the attention of the audience. Group dynamics must also be addressed as the assignment is designed to be a collaborative effort by a group as a whole, and not a conglomeration of each its parts.

After that our teacher dived us on groups( for 3/4 people) to compare all information together which we researched last week. I'm with Courtnev and Rafa in one group. Our exercise as a group was to develop and deliver a 10 minutes presentation. Our presentation should be/must be well research , well planned, and fairly distributed. No one group member should take the lion's share of the presentation. It should have well crafted , easy to understand visual ids. The computer and project will be made available. Presentation should be engaging, energetic, and well rehearsed. This presentation also will be recorded. Also our presentation it should not be simply a lecture. It should be an event.

As a group we decided to research all information individual and after that meet together ,check all information as a group ,choose the most important information and put them on power point. Unfortunately in the appointed date to submit our  information Rafa didn't do his research. Courtnev did research  but not on topic and all information was wrong and unhelpful . Also I would like to  emphasize that whole presentation I had to do by myself because my group told me that they don't have time to do it together so they decide  that they will send me all information and I will decide/choose which information put into the presentation which meant automatically that all the work of creating the presentation rests on my shoulders. I said ok because I cut the preparation time for this presentation because I go to my country but I cut just only 3 days no more which means that we should still start to prepare our presentation week before the deadline. Furthermore I want to mention that  I'm a busy person and I don't  have a lot of time as well because I work and I have many duties too. I only hope that we will be fairly and properly assessed. So that it is all description of our "teamwork".

During my work I researched all British websites (Google, UT etc) as well as a Polish to explore more information on this subject. That's helped to understand better  this topic . Stage finding information course even good. Quite easily you could find information but there was a lot of reading to find the specific answers to questions. Also I found many useful information and I expanded the scope of knowledge about healthy voice. I found a lot of good suggestions and advices about how to keep healthy voice and what to do if we have some problem therewith.

This assignment was really useful for me in every way. I think these kind of assignments helps students to understand better how our body works and how important it is to know what part of body and other things/factors  (outside the body )have an impact on our lives and career; in this case in singing and acting.
